Solar Wall Fountain

The basic idea of the solar wall fountain is just like all other mechanisms that rely on solar power to work. Solar power involves converting solar energy from the sun into electricity through the solar panel. This panel consists of Photovoltaic cells generally known as PV cells, which generate power. This solar powered panel in turn powers the water pump that’s linked to the solar wall fountain.

The ancient Greeks and Romans too had wall fountains, as an intrinsic portion of their culture. The outdoor fountains had several tiers of basins on elaborately sculptured walls. However only the wealthy could afford fountains. Probably the most commonly used materials for fountains were rock, pebble, bronze, and limestone. Gravity was used to power the fountains. In ancient Europe fountains were found in the gardens in monasteries. Decorative masks added a visual appeal and helped to hide the plumbing. These fountains drew from Greco-Roman as well as Persian influences.

For people that never experimented solar powered gadgets it’s easy to believe that it only work when weather conditions are bright and sunny. That’s not necessarily true. That is because the sun still radiates energy even if we cannot see it. Your solar wall fountain will continue to gush when the weather is cloudy although the water flow may be less intense due to the reduced power generated from the sun. Solar fountains may either have their panels integrated into the body of the water feature or have it placed a distance away from the fountain. Installing the panels could be done by putting them up the wall, propping them against hard surface, or by putting them in the garden. The most important consideration is the amount of exposure to direct sunlight it should be optimal.

Outdoor fountains accentuate the gazebos, stonewall, and fences. The water helps you to feel tranquil and if you choose the right one, they are absolutely beautiful. To pick the right one you need to take a look at your available space and then visualize where it will look the best. Outdoor wall fountains typically come in pedestal and outdoor basin wall fountains. Pedestal fountains are great for wall fountains. However they are not good to be put on cheap surfaces. Rather you need to place them on brick, concrete, and a wall or fountain skirt. Outdoor basin wall fountains should be used on softer surfaces. Alternatively it is possible to decide on choosing a fountain with halogen lighting that will help accent the flow of water thereby increasing its beauty enormously.

Although it seems like an excellent idea a solar-powered wall fountain is not yet a great choice. Current solar technology isn’t sufficient for practical use with water fountains. The size of solar panel necessary to move the water through a moderately sized fountain is very unwieldy and very hard to hide in the home application. Also solar panels for home use haven’t yet evolved to withstand the pounding by the sun for too long making frequent (and expensive) alternative necessary.

A Garden Fountain can harmonize water and is built to meet both your practical and visual purposes. Subject to your taste or available space, a Wall Fountain is a popular style choice for gardens of all sizes.
