History Of Plastics

The history of plastics can be traced and dated back to the year 1860. The experimenter John Hyatt conducted research on a compound called cellulose nitrate and produced various kinds of billiard balls from numerous types of supplies. The coating material for the billiard balls was made out of shellac, ivory dust and a variety of cloths within the year 1869. John Hyatt ultimately joined forces with his brother Isaiah and took a U.S. patent to make a horn like item which was made from camphor and cellulose nitrate. After the creation procedure was completed, the product was known as celluloid which was an aggregate of camphor and the compound cellulose nitrate. Continue reading
